If you are looking for Grade 11 & 12 AP Physics, Biology, or Chemistry, as well as Math 12 (ex. Advanced Calculus, Algebra etc.), she can refer you to a reputable and trusted local tutor who also offers 1:1 and group lessons.

Ms. Karen is confident she can create the best foundation and skills for your child to excel ahead for Grade 11 and 12 pathway towards AP or IB classes and can personally refer you to her trusted colleague(s), if desired.

In-Person lessons incur a travel fee for the GOING TO only portion to agreed location calculated at $85/hour (ex. 15mins x $60 = $21.25)

Cancellations must be made 24hrs before the start of a scheduled lesson time. To provide some space to settle, the first is waived, however, charged in full thereafter.

In the case of sickness/emergency, it is understandable and a make up session will be offered. Subject to availability match and tutor’s discretion. If a make up cannot be scheduled, it will be rolled over into next month’s bookings.

If no future bookings are made, then a refund can be offered - subject to tutor’s discretion.

Cancellations are capped at one time a month (ex. cancelling onr or multiple sessions at one go for foreseeable schedule change is okay but cancelling multiple times throughout the month is not).

This is to ensure all family’s desired schedules and bookings are respected. As well, an understanding that any last minute lost time is a time-slot that cannot be easily made up or rescheduled. And a general respect of my time and juggling of many different needs and schedules.

As this is part of my livelihood and where I am also a caregiver for my family members, I gracefully ask for your support and understanding of my humble services.

It’s a case by case scenario and Ms. Karen will consult honestly should one or the other work best. A hybrid option can also be discussed and all new habits take time to settle in.

Generally, after meeting the student and working with them for a minimum of 2-4 sessions would allow more context for consult.

Currently, 80-90% of my students opt for online mostly because of convenience and challenges of travel time and cost. It also allows learner(s) to practice digital skills in a controlled academic environment, preparing them for our current societal needs.

In-person is a wonderful option if travel time / cost is not an issue (ex. living nearby) and allows for more hands-on practice and problem-solving in particular for younger learners between Grades 1-6.

In my experience, the earliest age for online sessions is Grade 3 and all training and support will be provided. It has been common where I will meet with a student in person the first few sessions to set them up for success offering training and technical support in their learning space at home, then transition to full-time online tutoring over time.

Agreed dates and times are confirmed via digital payments at the beginning of each month for parent/guardian(s) to hold desired time slots.

Ms. Karen teaches in English and can supplement her sessions with Cantonese and Mandarin should a students’ first language not be English or wish to practice more than one language.
